The adult male Montagu's Harrier is still in the area, early morning it was at Hesketh Out Marsh but reappeared at Martin Mere around 11am before flying towards Ron Barker hide, it was later seen around midday and later around 1pm before flying off towards the coast, hopefully it will be seen again tomorrow. The Common Crane was also seen briefly today in flight as it dropped into one of the distant fields at the back of the reserve.

Other sightings today included a female Cuckoo from Ron Barker hide, also a Little Stint was present from the same hide along with 3 Black tailed Godwit, a Common Sandpiper and a Peregrine which was seen to take an Avocet chick and was then chased by upto 7 angry Avocets! A single Ruff was from United Utilities hide along with a pair of Common Tern. Another Osprey was reported from the Reedbed walk as it flew over and upto 3 Marsh Harrier continue to be seen along with Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and several Common Buzzard.

A Fox cub was seen near to Ron Barker hide.
