Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Some excellent birding again with some of the highest counts of the autumn so far including Common Teal at 2175, Whooper Swan 890 and 115 Tufted Duck. Other counts included 14,000 Pink-footed Geese, 245 Greylag, 1690 Mallard, 460 Wigeon, 60 Pochard, 125 Pintail, 18 Gadwall, 300 Shelduck 50 Coot and 330 Black-headed Gulls.

Wader counts included an impressive 950 Lapwing, 68 Ruff, 5+ Ruff, Black-tailed Godwit and a late Common Sandpiper.

Again raptors were active with 3+ Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, 3+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl this morning.

A Raven showed well again this morning from the Ron Barker Hide and later flew calling over the Mere.

Treecreeper and Great-spotted Woodpecker with a mixed Tit flock on the nature trail.
