At least 10 European White-fronted Geese with Pink's this afternoon. At least 60 Barnacle Geese, although many of these birds are likely to be feral. Difficult to assess the numbers of Pink-footed Geese around at the moment but at least 3000 coming into roost.
Hopefully with an influx of birders for the North West Birdfair this weekend somebody might turn up a Bean Goose or two!
At least 3 Marsh Harrier and 2 Peregrine hunting on the reserve. Short-eared Owl late on.
Yesterday's Red-breasted Merganser was the second record for the reserve and put our year list onto 151.
