More Pinkfeet arriving

An autumnal feel to the day with grey sky, a bit of a westerly wind and drizzle complete with flocks of newly arriving Pink footed Geese during the morning, hard to know how many were involved, but at least 250 birds in several flocks with the possibility of upto 400.

Other sightings included a fly over Yellow Wagtail, at least 60 Snipe (probably much more), 30 Ruff, 20 Black tailed Godwit and 3 Redshank. From the Harrier hide upto 6 Little Grebe were on show but no sign of the probable Black necked Grebe, also a Kingfisher put in a brief appearance.

Upto 3 juvenile Marsh Harrier continue to show well, along with several Kestrel, 2-3 Sparrowhawk including a large female and several Common Buzzard. A couple of Chiffchaff were heard calling along the walk to Harrier Hide this morning.
