More Waders
More Avocet today with a count 86 mostly from the Ron Barker Hide. A flock of 10 Golden Plover dropped in briefly. further wader counts included 88 Ruff, 80 Oystercatcher, 300+ Lapwing, 28 Black-tailed Godwit, 11 Redshank, 4 Ringed Plover and Dunlin.
Two Chiffchaff today, one singing on the Reed Bed Walk this morning and a silent one between Janet Kear and the United Utilities Hides.
Two Bewick's Swan came in just before 3pm with Whoopers on the Mere. Selective waterfowl counts included 1500+ Pink-footed Geese, c500 Whooper Swan, 400+ Shelduck, 400+ Wigeon, 120+ Pintail, 250 Teal and 13 Pochard.
At least 3 Common Buzzard, Peregrine and Sparrowhawk. Raven also roaming around.
Male Brambling from the Janet Kear Hide. Mistle Thrush feeding in front of the in focus shop. A flock of ~30 Fieldfare from the Reed Bed Walk this morning.
