There are plenty of Osprey on the move at the moment with many passing over the North-West. Keep your eyes peeled as they are just about annual on the reserve and continue to move North into May. A new immature Marsh Harrier turned up today making it four around the reserve. Other raptors included 2 Kestrel, 3+ Common Buzzard and Sparrowhawk.
Twelve Whooper Swan this morning including a family party with 4 young.
A small influx of Curlew with 40 birds this morning. Lapwing are on territories, mobbing anything that flies over. The usual Avocets present, only 12 Black-tailed Godwit, 22 Oystercatcher, 30+ Ruff, and small numbers of Ringed Plover, Redshank and Common Snipe.
