With south-easterly winds blowing for the next day or two it's an excellent time to visit the reserve, not because something may be blown in (though don't rule that out), but because it makes viewing from the predominantly west facing hides very comfortable indeed. Some visible migration was in evidence earlier today with Skylarks, alba wagtails and Fieldfares all moving South.

An adult Med Gull was present this morning with Black-heads on the Mere.

At least 3 Marsh Harrier, Peregrine, 4+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, and Sparrowhawk all active today. Raven again this morning.

The recently arrived feral Barnacle Goose flock has increased to 78 birds.
