The ringing demonstration produced a nice catch of recently fledged birds including numbers of Tree Sparrow, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Greenfinch and a single Great-spotted Woodpecker.

No further sign of the White-spotted Bluethroat despite plenty of people looking over the past few days. The path out to the area will remain open until Friday late afternoon. Even if you won't see the Bluethroat it's a nice walk.

A few butterflies seen today included Meadow Brown, Large Skipper, Speckled Wood, Peacock, Brimstone and Small White.

A few fledged Common Whitethroat were near the Kingfisher Hide. Corn Bunting singing along the perimeter hedge beyond the Reed Bed Walk.

Other sightings included Cuckoo, 2 Green Sandpiper, Raven, 60+ Teal and Marsh Harrier.
