Raptor Day

A great raptor day although some luck involved if you managed to see all of the birds available. Male Hen Harrier over the Reed Bed early on, Merlin from the Ron Barker Hide for most of the morning and late on on Plover Field. Peregrine and Marsh Harrier late on and at least 4 Common Buzzard throughout the day, also Sparrowhawk. Tawny Owl along the Nature Trail.

Again a single Bewick's Swan on the Mere with 1000+ Whooper Swan present.

Around the feeding stations Reed Bunting, Tree Sparrow, Green, Gold and Chaffinch. Blue, Great, Coal and Long-tailed Tits also present. Up to 4 Great-spotted Woodpecker on the reserve.

Just off the reserve Yellowhammer and Corn Buntings in a Cabbage field.
