The raptor show continues with up to 3 Peregrines on site today along with at least 3 Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, Kestrel and Common Buzzard. Other sightings included a single Raven looking for any dead wildfowl to feed on. Other birds include upto 60 Ruff and 2 Redshank.

Two 1st winter European Whitefronted Goose were picked out among c2000 Pink footed Geese and at least 2 Barnacles among the Pink feet. The last Whooper Swan count revealed 1400 birds, compared to the record of over 2000 last winter. The relatively mild winter so far has helped many Whoopers stay further north so far, but with a blast of harsh winter weather we should see a mid winter arrival maybe in the New Year.

We'd just like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers a very happy xmas and a bird filled new year!
