Raptors

A showery day with sunny spells early on giving us some rainbows across the reserve, nice.

A wildfowl packed reserve with more ducks arriving daily. Should have some figures from tomorrows count. As more birds arrive the hunting opportunities mean plenty of raptor action. Today we recorded 4 Peregrine, 4 Marsh Harrier, 3+ Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

The usual waders with 800+ Lapwing, 40+ Ruff and a few Common Snipes.

Kingfisher again from the Ron Barker Hide.

Over fifty species of wild bird to be seen around the reserve at the moment.
