Ravens

A count of 6 Ravens today was a big count, a family group of 4 birds have been around on and off for a while and another 2 birds were seen today. The Marsh Harriers continue to show well at times with at least 2 juveniles being seen today. The usual Common Buzzard and up to 6 Kestrel continue to be seen as well as the odd sighting of a juvenile Peregrine in recent days.

On the wader front we still have at least 31 adult Ruff  on site, with 3 juv Dunlin today and a juv Little ringed Plover this afternoon from Ron Barker. Snipe numbers are slowly building with 10+ being seen most days at the moment. Up to 2 Common Sandpiper are still around and the Lapwing flock continues to grow. Over the last couple of days other waders included a flock of 8 Ringed Plover and 12 Dunlin.

Duck numbers are slowly increasing with around 150 Teal now on site.

A Southern Hawker was again seen along the path near the exit gate this afternoon.
