A Red Kite which flew south over the In Focus shop at  17.43 was a nice surprise and a good addition to the months raptor list.

3 Yellow Wagtail (1 male & 2 fem) were seen again distantly from the United Utilities hide, also a single Ruff from here. At least 3 Little ringed Plover can be seen on the Mere at the moment along with a pair of Ringed Plover with 3 chicks. Some migrant Ringed Plover were seen today totalling 24 birds (flocks of 11 & 13 birds)

2 Marsh Harrier continue to show well at times, also several Common Buzzard and 2 Kestrel. Good numbers of Avocet from Ron Barker hide at the moment with at least 38 adults and several chicks, though one chick was taken by an adult Peregrine again today, presumably the same Peregrine has developed a taste for Avocet chicks and was responsible for last weeks chick being taken.   TD/BS
