Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Another calm day packed with activity. A Short-eared Owl was hunting from 3.30pm. Three Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine, Kestrel, 2 Sparrowhawk and at least 4 Common Buzzard with two seen fighting with talons locked.

Three European White-fronted Geese came in late afternoon with Pink-footed Geese, also 4 Barnacle Geese. Common Shelduck numbers look like they have increased, though no specific count. Two Goldeneye on the Mere with thousands of duck.

Again 700+ Lapwing, 38 Black-tailed Godwit, 50+ Ruff and Spotted Redshank.

Roving tit flocks contained a couple of Treecreeper of which one was seen feeding on the picnic benches.
