A chilly clear start to the day. Glad to have the sun present for most of the day otherwise it would have been as cold as it was in the hides! The first Orange-tip Butterfly of the year braved the cool shade areas to fly in the sun.

More Swallows on the move North. Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Chiffchaff singing along the Nature Trail. Yellowhammer again singing along the hedge in Pumphouse Field. Also by Pumphouse Pool a Little Egret briefly at 2pm.

Waders included Common Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, 80+ Avocet, a few Ruff, 30+ Black-tailed Godwit, at least 60 Curlew.

The usual raptors 2 Marsh Harrier, 8+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
