Sightings

Plenty to see and look for at the moment with at least 2 Green Sandpipers still around, also a Little Ringed Plover, 7 Ruff and 50+ Black-tailed Godwits. The Lapwing flock continues to grow, now over 500 birds on the reserve.

A juvenile Mediterranean Gull was on the Mere on Thursday, also Common Gulls around as well as the usual Black-headed Gulls, Lesser Black Backed and a single Great Black Backed Gull.

At least 1 Little Egret is still around, also Kingfisher still being seen from Ron Barker Hide. Barn Owls are being seen distantly from Harrier Hide or closer with luck! A Peregrine and Marsh Harrier have been seen in recent days as well as the usual Kestrel, Buzzard and Sparrowhawk.

At least 10 species of Butterfly were seen today, Comma, Red Admiral, Peacock, Brimstone, Wall, Meadow Brown, Gatekeeper and 3 species of Whites.

Plenty of Dragonflies and Damselflies to be seen as well
