Much milder today and another excellent selection of birds. Some wildfowl and wader counts produced; 1340 Whooper Swan, 5200 Pink-footed Geese (mostly roosting), 680 Greylag, 4 Mute Swan, 40 Barnacle Geese, 1060 Common Shelduck, 2320 Mallard, 3500 Eurasian Teal, 490 Eurasian Wigeon, 460 Coot, 300 Moorhen, 1700 Lapwing and 72 Ruff.
Two imm Goldeneye on the Mere today.
First Merlin (a male) for a while, 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrel, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Common Buzzard and Peregrine.
Willow Tit from the Janet Kear Hide. Barn Owl hunting this morning and late on.
