Some counts
Some counts of selected species on the reserve included 2390 Teal, 450 Wigeon, 352 Greylag, 4700 Pink-footed Geese, 270 Pintail, 41 Pochard, 20 Tufted Duck, 10 Gadwall, 50 Canada Geese, 14 Shoveler and Goldeneye. A single Barnacle Goose with Pink-footed Geese just off the reserve.
At least 1000 Lapwing, 5 Dunlin and 30+ Ruff. Gulls included 250+ Black-headed, 2 Common Gull, 3 Lesser Black-backed and 2 Greater Black-backed Gulls. Little Grebe and 4 Cormorant also present.
Three Peregrine, Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
Thousands of Wood Pigeon feeding off the reserve.
