Some Passage

A better day weatherwise and more signs of autumn passage underway. An adult and juvenile Little Gull flew through the reserve. Twelve Common Buzzard went south with another 6 present around the reserve. Also present Marsh Harrier and Kestrel.

Good numbers of Swift on the move feeding over the reserve with at least 400 counted, probably more, also 200+ Swallow, 20+ House Martin and 7 Sand Martin.

Waders included 2 Green Sandpiper, 14 Black-tailed Godwit, 10+ Common Snipe, 2 Ruff and Little Ringed Plover.

Other sightings included 180+ Teal, 3 juvenile Reed Warbler and juvenile Water Rail on Vinson's Marsh.
