A very early record of Common Sandpiper from the Ron Barker Hide this morning. It is possibly the earliest record for Lancashire. Plenty of other waders with 45 Golden Plover, 60+ Avocet, 6 Dunlin, 4 Redshank, 70+ Ruff, 30 Black-tailed Godwit, 70+ Oystercatcher, 500 Lapwing, 4 Ringed Plover, Curlew and Common Snipe.

Around 1000 Pinks roving around the reserve. Four Goldeneye were good to see as they have been absent of late.

At least 3 Marsh Harrier, 6+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
