Two drake Garganey  today on Woodend Marsh from the United Utilities Hide. Also from there Yellow Wagtail and 4 Wheatear. More Wheatear ~ 8 just off the reserve  on a ploughed field near the Reed Bed Walk. White Wagtail around the Mere mid afternoon.

Two Curlew Sandpiper and Little Stint from the Ron Baker Hide. Other waders include 20+ Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, Common Sandpiper, 2+ Little Ringed Plover, 10+ Ruff, 100+ Avocet, 3 Dunlin, Redshanks, Ringed Plovers and Lapwings.

Warblers present include Reed, Sedge, Garden and Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Whitethroat.

At least 2 Marsh Harrier, 4 Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

More signs of fledging birds with young Robins, Long-tailed Tits and Blackbirds around the reserve.

Tomorrow's rain front has the potential to drop in some new migrants so don't watch this space, come and find 'em!
