Although most people would swap all the rain for some extended sunny weather, today's showery conditions are ideal for dropping new birds in. Two Greenshank flew on to the Mere early afternoon and spent much of the time sleeping. Other waders reported included Green Sandpiper and 130 Black-tailed Godwit.

Raptors included Marsh Harrier, 4 Common Buzzard, 3 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Yesterday, 2 Common Tern in the afternoon from the Ron Barker Hide.
