Two Siberian Chiffchaff

They're flocking! Yes it appears we have two Siberian Chiffchaff present with 3 Common Chiffchaff early afternoon opposite the Sewage Works, accessed from the Reedbed Walk.

The second bird is somewhat tattier than the original bird with missing feathers on the breast and around the face.

Other reports today included 84 Avocet, 4 Ringed Plover, 60+ Ruff, 40+ Oystercatcher, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit.

Raptors included 12 Common Buzzard (most distant), Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl early on.

Little Egret again. Four species of thrush with 30+ Fieldfare, Redwing, 2+ Song Thrush and many Blackbirds.

The first butterflies of the year with Comma, Small Tortiseshell and Peacock both on the wing.
