Wednesday Sightings
A Butterfly survey yesterday produced Brimstone, Green-veined White, Meadow Brown (over 50!), Red Admiral, Small Skipper, Small Tortoiseshell, Small White, Painted Lady, Speckled Wood and Gatekeeper.
Vinson’s : 16 Lapwing, Shoveler, Teal, Gadwall including two ducklings.
Sunleys: 3 Whooper Swan, 2 Mute Swan, 4 Avocet, Teal
Mere: 5 Common Tern, Little Ringed Plover, Tufted Duck with 7 chicks.
Woodend: 70+ Black-tailed Godwit.
Whimbrel over this afternoon making it 13 species of wader in the past few days.
Plenty of juveniles to be seen from Kingfisher Hide Blackbird, Robin, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Greenfinch, Goldfinch and Tree Sparrows.
The wild Liquorice by Kingfisher Hide is starting to flower.
