Two calling Whimbrel flew over the in focus shop this morning, more signs of spring. Other wader reports included 102 Avocet, 40 Curlew, 30+ Black-tailed Godwit, Common Sandpiper and Dunlin. Also present but no counts, Common Snipe, Oystercatcher, Redshank and Ringed Plover.
A six species of raptor day with Merlin, Peregrine 2 Marsh Harrier, 6+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
At least one White Wagtail dropped in on the Mere this morning. Willow Tit calling and seen at the far end of the waterfowl gardens.
