White-fronts drop in
Six European White-fronted Geese dropped in at 2.15pm onto Plover Field yesterday with around 100 Pink-footed Geese. Also 4 Barnacle Geese with them. An early morning count showed that there are still 3,600 Pink-footed geese using the reserve with a massive 1,150 Whooper swans which is great for this time of year.
A short eared owl has also been spotted regularly feeding at the back of the mere from 3.50pm.
