Biggest count of the winter so far with 1800+ Whooper Swan. Some of this group were also aged and brood sizes recorded. There were 1094 adults with 168 juveniles. Forty one pairs had one juvenile, 31 pairs had 2, 12 pairs had 3, 5 pairs had 4 and 2 pairs had 5 and 6 juveniles respectively.

Again a single Bewick's Swan seen morning and afternoon. Four Goldeneye on the Mere. Two European White-fronted Geese with Pink-footed Geese from the Ron Barker Hide.

A good raptor day with at least 5 Common Buzzard up and about, 3 Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Again Willow Tit, Brambling and Treecreeper around the feeding station from the Janet Kear Hide. A Stoat was out on the ice from this hide too.

Much milder today and worth noting that over the past few days we have had Red Campion, Primrose and Daisy in flower as well as Snowdrops.
