Willow Warbler

Late news for yesterday a Willow Warbler was apparently present near the Kingfisher Hide late afternoon. First record of the year.

Spring action was otherwise reflected in singing Chiffchaff and Blackcap today, as well as displaying Lapwing, Redshank, Ringed Plover and Avocet. The full breeding plumage male Ruff was showing on the Mere morning and afternoon.

The adult male Hen Harrier came through early afternoon. Plenty of Common Buzzard around, also Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Sand Martin again in small numbers.

No reports of Sedge or Cetti's today.
