So where is Hawaii?

BAY asking nicely!
Hello! Food?

Having contributed to this current edition of Waterlife, it has been pointed out to me that I might need to look at a map...

Turns out, they're right! For years (and years) I have stuck to my guns in my complete belief that Hawaii was pretty much on the equator, and if anything, south of it. I'm not just a little bit wrong, I'm very wrong. It's on the same latitude as Cuba in one direction, and the Philippines in the other!

At some point in time many moons ago I've looked at a map, and since then my memory and understanding has changed and warped. It's actually got me questioning what else I think I know that I actually, don't.

With Nenes it is easy to get it wrong. Every story claims a different number here and a different number there... But does complete accuracy actually matter? The moral of the Nene story is that Conservation works, and the discussion of the Nene strategy helps us learn for the future. We will continue to strive to get better and better and to improve ourselves for the benefit of endangered species.

And if I'm involved, I'll look at the map first!
