Flamingo Lagoon officially open
The new greater flamingo enclosure at WWT Slimbridge was officially unveiled today and the sunken viewing area provides visitors with an excellent chance of observing flamingo behaviour at close-quarters. Whilst the birds have only been installed in their new home for a week, they seem to have settled in well and are performing an array of interesting activity for visitors to look out for. The flock of birds, numbering over 200 individuals, makes a spectacular sight in the new African themed wetland, and now that the flamingos are mixed with a range of African duck species you can really appreciate the ecology of the flamingo's habitat out in the wild.
