Double Gold for WWT Slimbridge

We are very proud to have won two Gold Awards for Accessible & Inclusive Tourism and Large Visitor Attraction in the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Awards.

We are very proud to have won two Gold Awards for Accessible & Inclusive Tourism and Large Visitor Attraction in the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Awards.

On 30 November 2023 at The Bristol Hotel, 64 awards were presented to the best tourism and hospitality businesses from across Bristol, Bath and Somerset.

The awards covered everything from accommodation and attractions to food and drink and activities, with an ever-wider range of visitor experiences amongst the winners. There were also awards for an increasing numbers of businesses in the all-important new tourism business, sustainable tourism and accessible tourism categories.

The awards recognise that WWT Slimbridge provides a truly memorable visitor experience for everyone - particularly those with accessibility requirements, and demonstrate excellence across every aspect of our business.

We have worked particularly hard on improving our Accessibility over the last few years, this has included opening a Changing Places facility, producing an Accessibility Guide and filming and creating an Accessibility video to help visitors plan ahead.

As winners, we will now be considered for the South West Tourism Excellence Awards and could even be invited to represent Bristol, Bath and Somerset in the 2024 national VisitEngland Awards. We took away two Silver awards in this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards and a bronze in the VisitEngland Awards, so with two Gold awards in the bag this time around we are hoping to only improve on our award-winning streak!

We would like to wish a huge congratulations to all our fellow finalists and thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers for all of their hard work.
