Spring is almost here and there is plenty to enjoy at Slimbridge this season. Take a look at the below highlights, all included in your admission ticket and free to WWT members.
Your new Welly Boot Land - opening February 2023!
Experience our newly revamped Welly Boot Land play area, opening February 2023. Enjoy brand new play equipment including lily pad trampolines, climbing trees, log tunnels and a basket swing. Explore the wetland themed water play areas and have a splashing good time.
With improved surfacing in the play area, Welly Boot Land will be more accessible for everyone.
The Big Hideout | Saturday 11 - Sunday 26 February
It’s amazing what wildlife you can see when you hide in the right place, between Saturday 11 - Sunday 26 February our bird hides are hideouts. Bring all the family and take hiding to a whole new level with lots of activities to have a go at. Winter is the perfect time to discover incredible wetland wildlife, borrow our binoculars and telescopes and take a peek at bird life like you’ve never seen it.
Hideout experts will be on hand with top tips to help you explore. From becoming an Arctic adventurer to crafting your own binoculars, designing a Bewick's swan bill pattern to taking part in the great migration game, there's something for all ages at The Big Hideout.
Become a Wetland Hero - all year round
Try out our FREE family friendly app, Wetland Heroes and discover the full extent of Slimbridge this February. Experience Slimbridge like never before by going on fact finding missions and taking on fun challenges suitable for the whole family. Tried it before? Don't forget there's new packs to explore each season!
Nature Patterns - winter activity
Come and notice nature’s patterns with us this season. Pick up an activity sheet on arrival at admissions and explore patterns around Slimbridge. Then with clever folding and cutting, create a booklet of all your favourite patterns.
Daily talks - all year round
Every day we run a host of talks across the centre. From meeting our marvellous mammals at Back from the Brink to learning more about our awesome amphibians in Toad Hall. Watching a breath-taking commentated Wild Bird Feed in the heated Peng Observatory to sitting back and relaxing at a Meet the Trainer talk in our Living Wetland Theatre, there really is something for everyone.
Have a look at the board at admissions on arrival to see which talks are running on the day you visit, and then just turn up - there's no need to book!
