Unlock the secrets of wildlife after dark on a Night Safari
Wildlife fans can discover what creatures become active after dark on WWT Slimbridge’s new Night Safaris.
In August groups will go out on the Centre’s spectacular wetland reserve with a wildlife guide looking for foxes, badgers, hares and maybe even roe deer.
During the evening the groups will also use bat detectors to track down these elusive creatures with the help of local expert David Priddis.
Slimbridge Reserve manager, Dave Paynter said:
“This new event will be an exciting way to discover how wildlife changes after dark. It is easy to forget that when humans are getting ready for bed some other mammals are at their most active, so this will offer people a chance to see our reserve’s more elusive visitors. As well as some hopefully interesting sightings out on the Reserve with the help of the detectors the groups will be able to locate and hear bats.”
The event will be running on four evenings (8th, 9th, 22nd, 23rd) from 9pm to 11pm.
