WWT Slimbridge named finalist in national VisitEngland awards

We are overjoyed to be finalists in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2023.

We are delighted to be finalists in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2023 in the Accessible and Inclusive category.

The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry celebrating quality, innovation, best practice and exceptional customer service.

48 finalists were announced in total, after a rigorous judging process by handpicked tourism industry experts.

Slimbridge were the only finalist selected from Gloucestershire, demonstrating that we're leading the way for the county and providing excellent access to nature - for all.

After winning Silver for Accessible & Inclusive Tourism and Large Visitor Attraction in the South West Tourism Awards, going through to the national awards is a massive achievement and we are so appreciative of our dedicated staff and volunteers.

All of WWT’s wetland centres exist to fulfil founder Sir Peter Scott’s vision of connecting people with nature and we aim for our wetlands and wildlife to be accessible to everyone.

Being a finalist in the Awards for Excellence recognises that we provide a truly memorable visitor experience for everyone - particularly those with accessibility requirements, and demonstrate excellence across every aspect of our business.

The national awards ceremony will be held at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, on June 7 - wish us luck!
