A night of heavy rain

A few more migrants arrived after a night of heavy downpours.


Estuary Tower

An adult Greenshank (new-in), a few Pied Wagtail and brood of 3 Shelduck on the scrape. A Bullfinch In the hedge along the path + Little Grebe juvenile on the pill box pool.

66 fledged Black-headed Gull, Shoveler f + 2 ducklings, 72 Black-tailed Godwit, 26 Redshank ( 2 juv), 11+ Avocet (3+ juv), 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Oystercatcher, 16 Teal, 55 Gadwall + a few Swallows feeding over

Top New Piece

A few Sand Martins with the Swallows and House Martins, Redshank with juvenile, 1 Avocet, 2 new-in Common Sandpiper on the recently hand weeded island, brood of 9 Gadwall, Little Grebe, 37 Teal and 28 Black-tailed Godwit but they flew off.

Middle Point

28 Curlew out from and to the South of the point (one ringed head started bird noted), 56 Curlew to North of the point on the mudflats and shelf at Frampton on Severn, 55+ Avocet with juveniles scattered about the mudflats, 7 Oystercatcher, a brood of 15 Shelduck off the Dumbles with a few broods to the North.

Rushy

Little-ringed Plovers + two chicks, a few Avocet broods + Mallards, Shelduck, Tufted Duck and Mute Swan with young, 2 Green Sandpiper, Black-tailed Godwit and 6 Gadwall.
