We had a brief period of heavy rain this morning as first light broke, but the Collared Pratincole remains on the South Lake.

South Lake
The Collared Pratincole was back on the causeway with a few Lapwing this morning, along with an adult Mediterranean Gull on the deep lake rocks. Also on the deep lake were six Pochard, 25 Tufted Duck and 3 Cormorant. The wader scrape held good numbers of Teal and Shoveler plus 269 Lapwing, 92 Black-tailed Godwit and a few Snipe.

Kingfisher Hide
The flock of 29 Russian White-fronted Geese were on the Bottom New Piece this morning.

Robbie Garnett Hide
A flock of 169 Dunlin dropped in on the Tack Piece as the tide was rising on the estuary. Also here were four Spotted Redshank, eight Redshank, eight Snipe plus several hundred Teal and Wigeon.

Martin Smith Hide
Three Water Rail were on the newly cut islands this morning. Also of note were seven Teal and two Gadwall.

Estuary Tower
As the tide was rising the flock of Dunlin was buzzing along the riverbank, along with a few Ringed Plover and at least 40 Grey Plover. The roosts of Curlew, Great Black-backed Gull and Shelduck were also building, and several Little Egret and Grey Heron were also present. A Great Egret flew over the hide heading north.
