Bittern

A surprise today with the first summer record of Bittern for 2019. One present in reeds below the Zeiss Hide.

Rushy Hide

A Snipe, a small flock of Lapwing, an Oystercatcher, Green Sandpiper and c7 Avocet on the lower pond. Two Common Tern noted over top pond with 14 Tufted Duck and 5 Gadwall.

Tack Piece

Two adult Greenshank (three recently), 2 Common Sandpiper, 12 Green Sandpiper, 1 juvenile Little-ringed Plover, Oystercatcher, Lapwing and 4 Avocet.

South Lake

Seven male Ruff, 308 Black-tailed Godwit, 40+ Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 70+ Gadwall from Discovery Hide plus a pair of Little-ringed Plover with two young, 2 Curlew (released) and Green Sandpiper from Hogarth Hide.

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

Two Common Sandpiper, 50+ Avocet, 30+ Lapwing and plenty of Reed Warblers.
