The Bittern continues to show well from the Zeiss Hide this morning, with a nice supporting cast

The Bittern continues to show well from the Zeiss Hide this morning, with a run of daily sightings for over a week now. There is also a nice supporting cast with three Garganey and a Great Egret present this morning.

Estuary Tower
Over 100 Curlew were in the roost on the riverbank this morning at high tide. Yesterday was the tide was dropping a Spoonbill was seen along with several Little Egret, Grey Heron, a Great Egret and the Avocet flock. Two Sanderling were also seen yesterday, so keep checking for small waders once the tide has dropped today.

Zeiss Hide
The Bittern was seen mid-morning on the reedbed island. In front of the island are a flock of duck including Gadwall, Teal and the three Garganey. A Great Egret was hunting the margins and a juvenile Buzzard was feeding on a kill provided by its parent.

South Lake
The first juvenile Black-tailed Godwit of the season was present this morning amongst 290 adults. Also of note were an Oystercatcher, two Green Sandpiper, three male Ruff and eight Redshank.

Robbie Garnett Hide
A Common Sandpiper was with the Green Sandpipers on the Tack Piece again this morning.
