The weekend weather isn't looking great at Storm Dennis arrives from the west. This morning we are down to 15 Bewick's Swans, including two families. Will they make a break for it before the weather arrives tomorrow, or sit out the weekend and depart next week?

Zeiss Hide
Birds on the Top New Piece this morning included 267 Wigeon, four Oystercatcher, 3 Snipe, 381 Teal, 34 Shelduck, 3 Shoveler and a Cetti's Warbler was singing from the reedbed. Raptors seen included two Buzzard and a Peregrine.

South Lake
At least 387 Black-tailed Godwit were on the wader scrape this morning along with 16 Avocet. Also noted were a pair of Oystercatcher, 46 Pochard, 43 Shoveler and a Great Crested Grebe.

Estuary Tower
A flock of 293 Wigeon were on the Dumbles scrape this morning, whilst out on the grassland were 83 Golden Plover with several hundred Lapwing and a few Dunlin. A Skylark was singing here too, and Cetti's Warblers was singing from the Pillbox Pool reedbed. The male Marsh Harrier was seen again this morning, flying south past the tower.

At least 733 Wigeon were on the Tack Piece with a few Shoveler, 40 Redshank, 25 Ruff, a pair of Oystercatcher and 103 Curlew - including two head-started birds.
