Catch the Kingfishers at the nest while you can

The Kingfishers have begun to fledge their second brood of youngsters, they may only be around the nest site for another week or so, they tend to roam widely after leaving the nest. It could be it for the 2019 season unless a third breeding attempt occurs. They can be seen around the nest bank which is opposite the Kingfisher Hide.

Rushy Hide

Broods of Avocet, Pied Wagtails feeding young, at least 4 Green Sandpiper, a Redshank and brood of Shelduck,

Tack Piece

Little Egret, 3 Green Sandpiper, Oystercatcher, 5 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Avocet on the scrape.

Knott Hide

Willow and Reed Warblers, singing Blackcap.

South Lake

The nesting Little-ringed Plovers are still sitting, male Ruff, 175 Black-tailed Godwit (mostly adults), 7 Lapwing (2 juvenile), 90+ Gadwall and the usual gathering of Black-headed Gulls.

Two male Ruff and an adult Reeve among 68 Redshank (5 juveniles), 35 Lawping, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 32+ Dunlin, 3 Green Sandpiper and 104+ adult Avocet + young, 35 Teal and 5 Gadwall + Shelduck broods and Grey Heron.
