A Collared Pratincole has been found on the Top New Piece this morning, viewed from the Zeiss Hide.

The bird is the third record for Gloucestershire, and a first for the reserve. The other two records come from birds that strayed over the county border from neighbouring sites, back in May 1968 and May 1994.

Elsewhere on the reserve we're seeing an increase in the number of Wigeon present, with nearly 200 on the Tack Piece this morning. Spotted Redshank were seen from the Robbie Garnett Hide and Zeiss Hide this morning, and two Great Egret were also noted.
