Ducks are trickling in

Rushy Hide

Seasonal management work continues today and for the rest of the week.

A Spotted Redshank was present early morning but was heard flying toward South Lake later. A Snipe, Redshank and 2 Green Sandpiper were also seen.

Tack Piece

100+ Teal, 20 Shoveler, 30 Gadwall and 4 Wigeon on the scrape.

Holden Tower

Numbers of Yellow Wagtail among the cattle, a Peregrine on the posts and 2 Marsh Harrier viewable as the quartered the fields, Dumbles and foreshore.

Knott Hide

3 Wigeon, 15 Teal on the pill box pool, a few warblers calling in the hedges.

South Lake

24 Ruff, 26 Redshnak, 80 Black-tailed Godwit, 16 Snipe, 11 Pied Wagtail, 60 Shoveler, 40 Teal, 4 Cormorant and 2 Great Crested Grebe noted among the gulls and wildfowl.

Decoy Wood

A Jay and Buzzard noted.

Spinney Wood

Nuthatch, Treecreeper and tit flocks.

Zeiss Hide/Top New Piece

2 Garganey among 300 Teal, 1 Pintail, 4 Wigeon, 40 Shoveler, 30 Gadwall, 3 Aovcet and a Black-tailed Godwit.

Bottom New Piece

160 Lapwing and a hunting juvenile Marsh Harrier (two together earlier).
