Overlooked by the Kingfisher Hide, the Bottom New Piece field is pulling in great numbers of birds this week.

Kingfisher Hide
The two Dark-bellied Brent Geese were with the Canada and Barnacle Goose flock on the Bottom New Piece this morning, along with the Ross's Goose and Snow x Bar-headed Goose hybrid. Several hundred Dunlin are also feeding in the field with a good number of Lapwing, and a single Little Stint and Redshank were with them this morning. The Golden Plover flock are also settling here as they arrive from their night feeding out on the Cotswolds. A Water Rail was in the reedbed pool and the bird feeders are busy too.

Zeiss Hide
You can also see the Bottom New Piece field from this hide, but also look out over the Top New Piece too. This morning found 190 Wigeon, 29 Pintail and 122 Dunlin with the Lapwing flock. A Water Rail and Cetti's Warbler were calling from the reedbed.

South Lake
A flock of six Cattle Egret left roost this morning and flew inland over South Lake. The birds came from the Decoy or Canoe Safari area and may be seen in the local fields along the canal and around village.

Willow Hide
Two Water Rail were under the feeders this morning with ten Teal.

Rushy Hide
Nine Bewick's Swans were present this morning, the rest of the flock have moved off to feed inland for the day. Also on the pond were 93 Pintail, 178 Shelduck and a drake Mandarin plus the usual Tufted Duck, Pochard and Teal.
