Incoming Dunlin

Top New Piece/Zeiss Hide

78 Avocet (+2 broods, 1 and 4), 2 Lapwing, 2 Grey Heron, 1 juvenile Redshank, 90 Dunlin (adults in breeding plumage but at least 3 juveniles), 15 Gadwall, 12 Teal, juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 4 Yellow Wagtail on the islands + a flock of Lapwing in the Bottom New Piece among the bales. A Garganey was seen later in the day.

South Lake

Adult Ringed Plover dropped in wih a single Dunlin but went back to the estuary, juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 7 male Ruff, 10 Dunlin, adult Spotted Redshank, 52 Redshank, 7 Lapwing, 1 Oystercatcher, Kingfisher regularly carrying fish to nest, 58 Gadwall, 3 GCGrebe, 6 Cormorant, 30 Teal, 10 Tufted Duck, 9 Avocet (8 juveniles).

228 Black-tailed Godwit included two colour ringed birds, still need to check the other leg for rings on both birds, do let us know if you manage this + one juvenile).

Tack Piece

Juvenile Little-ringed Plover, 2 Green Sandpiper and 3 Lapwing.

Rushy Hide

26 adult Dunlin on the lower pond + drake Chiloe Wigeon hybrid and a few nervous moulting Mallard and Gadwall and 2 Reed Warbler singing.
