Kingfisher disputes continue

Kingfisher Hide

Two rather tired and soggy female Kingfishers continued to fight at the nest bank opposite the hide, the male simply watches on. Stabbing, jabbing, bill locking, tumbling down to the water and plenty of body language and calls. The Little Grebe pair ignored this activity, both Reed Bunting and Cetti's Warbler were seen. Over on the flood at least 6 Avocet and 11 Black-tailed Gdowit fed.

170 Wigeon, 4 Gadwall, 66 Avocet, 4 Lapwing + Black-headed Gulls, Shelduck Shoveler, Teal and Lesser Black-backed Gulls.

Willow Hide

3 Water Rail. Tack Piece- 59 Wigeon, 3 Oystercatcher, 1 Curlew, 8 Shoveler, Avocet, 16 Shelduck + Chiffchaff singing.

South Lake

Female Goldeneye, 9 Avocet, 18 Herring Gull, mating pairs of Black-:headed Gull, 40 Shoveler, 35 Teal + Greylags Shelducks, Cormorants and Tufted Ducks. The Cattle Egret arrived mid morning.

Estuary Tower/Dumbles

Plenty of birds feeding on the silt deposits and pools, 1 Grey Plover, 5 Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin, 250+ Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Redshank, 3 pairs Oystercatcher, 25 Curlew, 23 Lapwing, 137 Wigeon, 30 Avocet, 159 Barnacle and 29 Canada Geese.

Ox Piece/Stall House Ground and Severn

118 Russian White-fronted Geese.

Rushy Hide

Snipe, 16 Avocet, Redshank, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Wigeon, 32 Tufted Duck, 2 pairs of Pintail, c30 Teal + Shelduck, Canada and Greylag Geese.
