Little Gull Passage

Summer Walkway

A movement of Little Gulls through the estuary this morning with many being reported from further down stream. A flock of 20 were resting just north of Mid Point at 10.00 and at least 4 more passed through. Also on the Estuary were 4 Curlew and 115 Shelduck. A Wheatear was on the Dumbles with Meadow Pipits and Skylark and there were singing Reed and Sedge Warblers and Reed Bunting in the reed bed.
Whitethroat singing near the car park and one or two House Martins around the center buildings.

Estuary Tower

A scattering of Sand Martin passing through, 14 Teal were in the Tack Piece and a Little Grebe in the Pillbox pool. Four Cranes could be seen in fields to the north. Reed Warblers showing well along the walkway.

Top New Piece

View from the safari trailer at the Canoe trail. Avocet 24, Black Tailed Godwit 37, Teal 11, Shoveler 9 but no sign yet of Garganey. Also good views of incubating Crane from the Van de Bovenkamp hide viewing slot.
