Look out for wagtails

The Reserve Team have been finishing off fencing for a new habitat corridor today that will run along the Tack Piece, and were treated to at least 6 Yellow Wagtails buzzing around with the cattle.

The Reserve Team have been finishing off fencing for a new habitat corridor today that will run along the Tack Piece, and were treated to at least 6 Yellow Wagtails buzzing around with the cattle.

Rushy Hide
Waders on the lower pond included 32 Avocet and a Black-tailed Godwit.

Robbie Garnett Hide
Birds on the Tack Piece included 30 Wigeon, 6 Shoveler, 24 Shelduck, a Common Sandpiper, an Oystercatcher and 8 Teal.

Zeiss Hide
A flock of 26 Black-tailed Godwit were on the scrape along with 6 Redshank, 6 Lapwing and 12 Avocet. The Crane was on the nest and also counted were 40 Shelduck, 24 Shoveler, 6 Wigeon and a pair of Oystercatcher.

South Lake
Most of the flock appear to have moved on towards Iceland leaving just 133 Black-tailed Godwit on the wader scrape this morning along with two pairs of Oystercatcher and an Avocet. A Great Crested Grebe was on the deep lake along with 4 Shoveler, 8 Teal and 6 Gadwall.
