Highlights from around the reserve
South Lake
Female Goldeneye was on the wader scrape but moved to deep lake, 46 Pochard, 5 Avocet, 710 Lapwing, 4 Oystercatcher.
Bottom New Piece
Adult Spoonbill was sleeping at South end and viewable from Kingfisher Hide, it seems to have moved to Tack Piece, 920 Dunlin, 720 Lapwing, 3 Ruff.
Estuary Tower
Three Snow Geese, 2 Reed Bunting, 45 Shelduck on the mudflats, 2 Peregrine Falcons.
Top New Piece
440 Lapwing, 120 Dunlin, 300 Wigeon, 40 Pintail, 120 Teal, 5 Ruff, 5 Black-tailed Godwit.
Tin Shed Ground/Van de Bovenkamp Hide-
Three Pink-footed Geese, 3 Greenland + 183 Russian White-fronted Geese at 09:30am.
Rushy Hide/Peng Observatory
99 Bewick's Swans, Avocet, Oystercatcher, 20 Snipe.
Martin Smith Hide
15 Snipe.
Tack Piece
Adult Spoonbill, 995 Golden Plover, 22 Knot, 296, 7 Redshank, 460 Lapwing, 400 Wigeon + Curlew and Dunlin, 16 Bewick's Swans roosted making it 115 on site early morning.
Entrance fields
Glossy Ibis seen again near the barns, a pair and family of 5 Russian White-fronted Geese N of road at 07:30am but not later. A large flock of 120+ Curlew feeding.
