New in, juvenile Red Knot and Icelandic Black-tailed Godwit

A few more migrant birds arrived today, our first islandica Black-tailed Godwits and a juvenile Red Knot. A juvenile Marsh harrier has joined the long staying female, both were seen together again today. We've noticed many more juvenile Little Egrets and Grey Herons on the reserve post fledging.

Top New Piece

Adult Greenshank (probably the same one touring scrapes?), Green Sandpiper, 106 Lapwing, 36 Avocet + 4 chicks, 19 Black-tailed Godwit (including 3 juvenile islandica), 48 Canada Geese and 8 Gadwall.

Tack Piece

Adult and juvenile Greenshank, 10 Green Sandpiper, 7 Teal, 3 Lapwing.

Rushy Hide

2 Green Sandpiper. and 2 Redshank

Middle Point/R. Severn

30 Dunlin, 1 Sanderling, 16 Avocet and 62 Curlew in flight on incoming tide + 4 Little Egret and 10 Great Black-backed Gull on the spartina island.

South Lake

Three Red Knot (2 moulting adults and juvenile), 43 Redshank, adult Spotted Redshank, 302 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Lapwing, juvenile Avocet, 40+ Dunlin, 7 Ruff, 320 Greylag, 2 Little Egret, 61 Gadwall, 10 Teal, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 6 Cormorant + 3 Green Sandpiper from Hogarth Hide.
