Redwing invasion
The reserve and grounds have been very busy with arriving or migration Redwings today, most encounters have invloved seeing flocks passing over but the hedges are very busy with them today. The Knott Hide has been the best spot to watch them as they can be very nervous.

205 Lapwing, 21+ Dunlin, 60+ Knot, 10+ Ruff, 459 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Redshank, 120 Shoveler, 12 Cormorant, 20 Gawall, 120 Teal, 16 Pochard, 55 Tufted Duck.
Top New Piece
1st winter Spotted Redshank with 13 Redshank, 60 Dunlin, 120 Golden Plover, 70 Lapwing, 450 Teal, 5 Pintail and 5 Greylag.
Bottom New Piece
27 White-fronted Geese (all appear to be Russian), 34 Greylag and 27 Canada Geese.
Estuary
40 Shelduck, 7 Curlew, 16 Pintail, 4 Teal, Tufted Duck (unususal here) and 38 Great Black-backed Gull.

3 Bewick's Swans present this morning plus 3 Snipe, 71 Shelduck, 30 Pochard and the presumed Pochard x Ring necked Duck hybrid.
